Kepler 442B is a little further away than the previous planet at twelve hundred and six light-years but this one has a much stronger probability of supporting life Kepler 442 B has very similar characteristics to our own planet it isjust one-third larger and sits in the habitable zone of its host star according to the astrophysics journal the comparative habitability of transiting exoplanets Kepler 442b may even be more habitable than Earth itself you see on our planet there are certain regions that aren’t really that habitable such as the polar and desert regions but Kepler 442b likely has a lower percentage of polar or desert regions and a higher percentage of more habitable Green moderate biomes it’s unfortunate this planet is situated so far away otherwise it would have been a likely contender for future human colonization

Proxima Centauri B was discovered in 2016 by the European Southern Observatory this planet is very special because it’s situated just 4.2 light-years away from Earth it’s literally our next-door neighbor Proxima Centauri B is 1.3 times the size of Earth and has a fast orbital time of just 11 days scientists believe and has a rocky composition and a density vertically equal to earth there is a more than 10 percent likelihood the planet could also have an icy composition its equilibrium temperature is estimated to be minus 39 degrees Celsius or minus 39 degrees in Fahrenheit it could host some forms of life however Thurs warned problem its host star is classified as an M type red dwarf and likely has intense solar winds and radiation red dwarf planets are also very hot and may have evaporated any water that existed on proxy map in the early years of its existence but scientists believe the planet most likely started with more water than earth did and probably still has some water its close proximity to earth will almost guarantee human exploration in the coming centuries

xaviar Bonneville’sis an astronomer at the International Astronomical Union in 2006 he made a stunning discovery of an earth-likeplanet called Ross 128b it is the second closest exoplanet at only 11 light-years away from Earth some have called Ross 128b the most earth-like planet ever found it has a rocky composition like Earth and receives 38% more sunlight but more importantly it maintains an average temperature of 21 degrees Celsius or 70 degrees in Fahrenheit it’s mild temperature means the probability of liquid water on this planet is very high and unlike Proxima Centauri this planet’s host star is stable with limited solar activity solar radiation and way are not a concern here furthermore Ross 128b is situated in the habitable zone of its host star however it does seem to be in the hotter side of this habitable zone but its close proximity to earth and its similar characteristics makes it a strong contender for future human exploration the other planets on this list all have certain drawbacks that undermine their probability of supporting life however

Kepler 22b is the most earth-like planet ever found it has been called the best candidate for another earth after being discovered in 2011 it excited scientists and astronomers everywhere Kepler 22b it’s in what is known as the Goldilocks zone the perfect distance away from it’s host star to support life it has an average temperature of 22 degrees Celsius or 72 degrees in Fahrenheit it’snot too hot not too cold the perfect temperature to support liquid water,Kepler 22b is double the size of Earth with a similar rocky core and it likely has a very large water ocean as we know oceans are breeding grounds for life,Kepler 22b also has a G class hosts are very similar to our own Sun its orbital time is also very similar at 290 days it’s located quite far away situated in the Cygnus constellation 600 light-years from Earth but its characteristics and properties make it the most earth-like planet ever found and the likeliest planet to support even complex life who knows maybe there’s another advanced species just like humans already living there.
